wednesday
packing, packing and more packing! me, SWOC, some SECC peeps headed to dempsey road not to have ben and jerry's, nor chill, but to pack 6300 goodie bags!! can you believe it!!! 6300!! so we packed from 3.30pm to 6am! some left at about 11pm to catch the last bus home, i stayed till 3am and the remaining 6/7 people left at 6am! thank god for him or i'll have to try catching a cab home or stay till 6am with them to continue packing the last 1600 bags! i packed so much that my arms were so sore and couldn't get a good night sleep! had to sleep with my chest facing the ceiling or my arms would ache even more if i leaned on either sides =( thank god it's over! oh, and did i mention? all these packing for $1200 for flag!

thursday
went to watch made of honour with him at night! was a pretty nice show i would say, and i think the female lead's so so pretty!!

friday
went to the MINDS school at jurong! was a tiring but somehow enriching experience. i never thought of things like "what if my fetus is detected to have down syndrome? will i abort him/her?", but going to this camp kept me thinking about it. anyway, some information i checked online about these kids :

what is down syndrome : Down syndrome (DS) is a condition in which extra genetic material causes delays in the way a child develops, and often leads to mental retardation. It affects 1 in every 800 babies born. The symptoms of Down syndrome can vary widely from child to child. While some kids with DS need a lot of medical attention, others lead very healthy and independent lives. Though Down syndrome can't be prevented, it can be detected before a child is born.

what causes it : Normally, at the time of conception a baby inherits genetic information from its parents in the form of 46 chromosomes: 23 from the mother and 23 from the father. In most cases of Down syndrome, however, a child gets an extra chromosome - for a total of 47 chromosomes instead of 46. It's this extra genetic material that causes the physical and cognitive delays associated with DS.

what is autism : Autism (sometimes called “classical autism”) is the most common condition in a group of developmental disorders known as the autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). Autism is characterized by impaired social interaction, problems with verbal and nonverbal communication, and unusual, repetitive, or severely limited activities and interests.

what causes it : Scientists aren’t certain what causes autism, but it’s likely that both genetics and environment play a role. Researchers have identified a number of genes associated with the disorder. Studies of people with autism have found irregularities in several regions of the brain. Other studies suggest that people with autism have abnormal levels of serotonin or other neurotransmitters in the brain. These abnormalities suggest that autism could result from the disruption of normal brain development early in fetal development caused by defects in genes that control brain growth and that regulate how neurons communicate with each other. While these findings are intriguing, they are preliminary and require further study. The theory that parental practices are responsible for autism has now been disproved.

anyhow, though they may look and behave differently, it was a pretty fun experience! though it can be really tiring teaching and teaching them how to complete a task, but i guess it taught me to be more patient with others.. and there's this little boy shawn who's really so cute! he always stands beside me(his height about that at my hips), holds my hands and says "i like you" then kisses my hands. so adorable! they weren't as hard to handle as i thought but many often wonder away themselves and you gotta always watch out for them and do regular head-counts.
they're more obedient then some normal primary school kids i would say, like when i tell them "go wash your hands", "go throw the plate ", they'll listen and do it without a sign of disobedience or reluctance. oh, and i had to bathe this 12-year-old girl too! my first time bathing some one else!
left the school at about 10.35 as i didn't want to stay over and he surprised me at bukit batok mrt to send me home!! he was such a sweetheart i tell you, and he bought my favourite and have-been-craving-so-much-for tang yuan from chinatown! because he insisted that i have the tang yuan in the car so that it won't be all soggy when i have it by the time i reach home, we stopped at this carpark and shared the tang yuan =) bliss! =)

saturday
he accompanied me to bukit batok mrt station to meet my friend then head back to the MINDS school early in the morning! =)
camp ended at about 2pm when i rushed home to bathe, change and head to city hall starbucks to collect money + indemnity forms from the campers of Sheares Exposure Camp! after which, me, val, andee and sab met the 18/05 peeps at billy bombers at marina square! it was nice seeing everyone again and catching up!
after which he sent andee, mel, deb and ragen home before sending me home ! he was so sweet to send all of them home =) oh! but one thing to note dear, please remember where you parked your car! hahahs! every time he parks at some huge carpark, i'll try to take note of the level, and section of carpark he parks at and remind him. see!! you can't do without me! =P

sunday
dim sum breakfast with family at junction 8 before heading to city hall carpark again to collect money + indemnity with sab and andee
rattles on..
